Game "Battle of the Keep Dungeon Entrance" Play

Attack 1

The Keep lies in ruins, but amidst the destruction lies a hidden entrance to an underground component, some would call it a dungeon. A narrow 5-foot corridor descends 20 feet, branching off into doors to the east and west. Although the entrance is loosely hidden by debris, it is not difficult to locate for those who know where to look.

Brash and overconfident, Nox attempts to storm the Keep alone. However, his plans are quickly foiled when a horde of goblins emerges from both doors and launches a fierce attack. Despite utilizing his invisibility to evade the creatures, Nox is eventually discovered when the goblins accidentally bump into him on the stairs.

In a fierce battle, Nox slays six goblins before ultimately realizing it is time to get the party involved.

Attack 2

As the party prepares to enter the Keep Dungeon, they form a strategic order: Grisnak leads the way, followed by the mysteriously silent Malachar, then Mauxracle, Nox, and Brival.

Upon descending into the dungeon, the party is immediately ambushed by a group of ferocious bugbears bursting through the doors. In a fierce fight, two bugbears are slain, thanks in part to Mauxracle's expert use of Command: Hold spells. A third bugbear flees in terror when Mauxracle casts a Fear spell.

As the dust settles, the bugbear chief emerges and launches a brutal attack on the party. Despite exchanging heavy blows, the chief eventually agrees to a parlay. He informs the party that Rodolfo has been taken by Gargoyles who are not far from where the party left the road. The Gargoyles have brought him to an island visible in the large lake to the north.
