Game “The Little Island Tower” Play

Bugbear @ Fog Trap

• The Bugbear Chief tells the party
  • He tells the party that Rodolfo was handed off to a party of Orcs and a Gargoyle
  • He thinks Rodolfo was taken to “The Little Island” where the Orcs have a fortress
  • It’s about two miles offshore
• The party head to the shore to find a boat
• They find a fisherman
• He won’t take them to the island itself because it’s too dangerous

• For 100GP, he agrees that:

  • He’ll find a smaller boat from a friend
  • He’ll drop the party off a few hundred yards from shore
  • He’ll come back the next morning, then the next afternoon; and again the day after if that doesn’t work

• They leave so they’ll arrive just after sunset (to avoid being seen from the island)

• They make their way to the shore

• The island is surrounded by a rocky beach, then a cliff maybe 50-100 feet in height; the cliff is not too steep that it can’t be climbed. On top of the cliff it is covered with grassy fields that used to be for grazing and forests. It’s less than a mile long and a few hundred yards wide

• The party head along the shore until a boat, which they hypothesize was used by the orcs to get to the island

• The party attempt to subtly sabotage the boat, though it really isn’t that well maintained as it is

• The party heads up a path on the cliff

• The party sees inland a tower, with a small campfire in front of it.

The Tower on the Little Island

• The tower is near the middle of the island; it is about 30 feet wide and 60 feet high. It is not well maintained, but not falling apart either. There is a single door on the east side (from which the party approaches). The top is is crenelated.
• There is a wall around the Tower, north and south about 60 feet from the tower (center); east and west about 120 feet. The wall has been torn apart in places, but there is plenty of cover everywhere.
• In front of the tower (that is between the party in the east and the tower in west) there is a campfire, with several orcs and one very large Boss Orc standing around, doing Orc-talk

The attack

• Grisnak and Malachar sneak forward to engage the Orc Boss
• Brival swings to the left (south)
• Not goes to the right (north)
