Introduction

Part 1 - Into the Warehouse

Nox engages street kids to spy on the warehouse.

The party discovers that the warehouse now has guards stationed outside. After some investigation (some might say “inordinate amount of time”), they conclude that these are obviously just low-level mercenaries / thug types. After discarding several more magical and/or violent ideas - Mauxracle says “they have done nothing to hurt us”. Mothy adds “It is important to stay in as good graces with the town and not kill or hurt people. We do not want to have to sneak around. Besides, it is the right thing to do, “ he continued, nodding at Paladin Grisnakh, “and we may make future friends!”

They finally just use Impy to (invisibly) buy their “look the other way” with a couple of gems.

The party enters through the dockside door.

After searching for a short while, they discover:

Part 2 - The Smuggler's Tunnel

The party opens the trapdoor and descends a short distance. The bottom of the stairs are flooded, but Mauxracle finds it only comes up to his knees.

The route is three 15’x15’ rooms connected by short 5’ wide tunnels. The first room is at the bottom of the stairs.

Malachar leads the way into the second room, only to be grabbed at by tentacles flailing out of the water. He dodges and counter attacks, quickly followed by X and Y. The party quickly dispatches the Giant Octopus before it can flee through a hole in the wall which appears to lead to the river (and hence the water in the room). As it dies, it fills the water with a disgusting black ink.

In the third room, which the party surmises is on the other side of the street directly across from the warehouse, they come across three horrible (to us) looking fish / humanoid creatures.

The party interrogates the creatures and finds out that they have been helping a “Dark Elf” named Ulryn bring a boat from an island upriver to the warehouse, to deliver boxes / packages. Ulryn is accompanied by several other Dark Elves and a blinded human which sounds very similar to the Servant of the Unnamed God they had met earlier. They claim that Ulryn and his companion elves suddenly turned on them and took them captive. They also learn that the boxes are delivered to the island by a bigger ship called Darknight Raider.

The party releases the Kuo-Tua, which Nox complains bitterly about as they are servants and / or allied with The Unnamed God somehow. As they are leaving, they look like they are sizing up the party for a fight but decide better of it.

Part 3 - Aftermath

The third room (which had the prisoners) has a ladder leading upwards to a trap door, which opens into a storage area for a general store. They carefully open the storage room door, open the outside door and leave. They use Impy to reclose the doors.

Across the street, they see that the side door has been broken open and the guards are missing. Well, not actually missing so much as pieces and in the water and all over the dock.

Nox berates the three fighters for releasing the fish creatures as they were evil and now were most likely roaming the alleys of the town killing woman and children. Mauxracle quickly states that with the guards dead and obviously killed by the fish creatures, it potentially covers up us accessing the tunnel. Nox calls him a hypocrite and states that the Unnamed God and the fish creatures are anathema to his Mistress and upon sight of them he would sent their rotting souls to hell for eternal tormented. Grisnak pointed out to Nox that all creatures have free will - “It was the decision of the Kua-Toa to kill the guards and not the party’s desire or intent in releasing them, which was the merciful thing to do”. And surely if Nox “knew” the creatures would kill the guards and didn’t prevent it isn’t he doubly liable for their crime?

They work their way back to their hotel, where they discover all their clothes below their legs are soaked in black ink.
