Approach to the Goblin Lair

The party follows the trail southwards up into the hills, following the trail of the Goblins. Looking north, they catch sight of "the Bay," a vast and beautiful lake dotted with islands of various sizes.

However, the weather starts to turn sour as they break through the woods, with the howls of unseen creatures haunting their every step. Suddenly, a thick fog rolls down the hill through a wide gully that they are hiking up, enveloping them in its chilling embrace. The adventurers find themselves under attack by giant rats, their sharp teeth and claws causing mayhem in the mist. Behind Wargs and Hobgoblins circle.

Goblin Lair

The party defeats the Wargs and Hobgoblins, and the fog clears. They find themselves at the entrance to a ruined keep. The keep is in ruins, but there is an entrance to an underground component, a "dungeon" some might say. It's a 5 foot corridor that descends 20 feet, then branches east and west into doors. The entrance is loosely hidden by debris, but basically easy to find.

Notable is Grisnak's rushing the Goblins to attack the single handly, and the use of walls for cover by everyone.

Attack Plan

The following is a description of the Goblins original plans. The Left wave never materialized

The RIGHT group will attack first, using short bows. If the party attempts to climb, they release a boulder trap and retreat, attempting to circle around the party.

The MIDDLE group will only attack if the party of approaches the walls. If the party gets close they will run down the stairs into the dungeon and seal the door

The LEFT group will attack when then the party is fully engaged with the the RIGHT or MIDDLE groups. They will start with MAGIC MISSILE, then SLEEP, then the mage will run away. There is a cliff nearby - only about 60 feet - but the Mage will use Feather Fall to jump off the cliff.
